Welcome to the rules page for the Blender Week Day Challenge!
- My decisions are final!
- The contest starts each Monday when I (aka blackcougar) post up an entries thread in the contests forum over at blenderartists.org
- The list is made up of three organic and three inorganic topics and participants choose one of each category to model.
- Participants must post a final render of each of their models in the entries thread before the deadline is over. (This is normally at 18:00GMT on the following Friday)
- If there are less than three completed entries posted in the entries thread when the deadline is over then the challenge will be extended by a week.
- A voting thread will be put up asap after the deadline has passed and will run for three days.
- The winner of the challenge will be the person who has the most votes at the end of the challenge, or, in the event of a tie, the person who was the first to complete their entry (This is deemed to be the entry post with the oldest edit date).
- The models and the final render can be made using any combination of software as long as blender is used somewhere (An example would be wings + blender + indigo + paintshop).
- It would be helpful if the participants added a brief description of what methods they used to create their models.
- Please state any non-blender software you have used for your model.
- If you post up more than one render of your model (excluding wireframes) please state which one we should use for the voting thread.
- Any wireframes posted will be added to the voting thread (If you don’t know how to make a wireframe check out the tutorial)
- Textures are allowed
- All renders are copyright of their respective creators, however in posting them on the entries thread you must be ok with me using the pictures for non-commercial use on the blenderchallenge.com website and to publicise the challenge.
- I will host any blend files relating to the challenge which are emailed to me at blends@blenderchallenge.com under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 3.0 Unported Licence
- The preferred format for the renders are between 800×600 and 1600×1200, less than a mb in size and in png or jpg format.
- You may compose your two models in one render with limited extraneous items or provide two separate renders.
- Incomplete entries will be put on the voting thread but not entered into the voting.
- Models must be original (created between the start and finish date of the challenge)
If you’re feeling generous why not add the models you create for this challenge to the Official Blender Model Repository and if you want to make your blend files available under the Creative Commons Attribution-Non-Commercial 3.0 Unported Licence just email them to me at blends@blenderchallenge.com and I’ll host them on the www.blenderchallenge.com website.
